2027 Negotiations Updates

update 006:First prep day
We met with our National Rep to start compiling ideas put forward by the membership to determine our priorities for Negotiations. We have another prep date set for late August.

update 004:Divisional Negotiations Ideas meetings - FACILITIES:
We are hosting meetings with each division (Parks,  Roads,  Facilities) to go over issues facing each department. To reach the greatest number of members possible,  these will be held at the Bronte Legion AND accessible via Google Meet (cameras required). Members who choose to attend in person,  can enjoy pizza & pop. The Facilities meeting date has now been set,  and will be held at 4:30pm.

Free Riders' Club

If you know people who are always bad-mouthing unions and blaming the woes of the world on organized labour,  you might want to share this with those people. Tell them to fully agree with it and see just how strong their convictions really are:

I am opposed to all unions,  therefore I am opposed to all benefits unions have won through the years: paid vacations,  paid holidays,  sick leave,  seniority rights,  wage increases,  pension and insurance plans,  safety laws,  workers' compensation laws,  Canada Pension,  time-and-a-half for overtime hours in excess of eight in one day or in any one week,  unemployment benefits,  and job security.
I refuse to accept any benefits that were won by the unions and hereby permit and encourage my employer to withhold the amount of all union-won benefits from my paycheque and donate them to charity.
